About

Free email tools, treated like a craft.

MailHyve is a small set of free email tools — generators for addresses, usernames, display names, subject lines, and HTML emails. We built them because most existing "free" versions gate the useful features behind a signup, a paywall, or a ten-second loading spinner.

Ours don't. Every tool runs locally in your browser. No accounts, no rate limits, no logged inputs. Inputs you type into the generators never leave your device.

How we got here

MailHyve started as a single tool — a random email generator we built for ourselves to seed test fixtures while working on an unrelated project. Hunting for a good free version online turned up the same three patterns over and over: a tool wrapped in signup walls, a tool that hadn't been updated since 2014, or a tool with a usable free tier capped at five outputs per day. Building one in an afternoon was faster than working around any of them, so we did, and put it online for anyone else hitting the same wall. The other tools followed the same way: every one listed below was built because we (or someone who emailed us) needed it and the existing options weren't worth using.

The site is a small operation. There's no team page because there's no team to put on it — just a couple of engineers who write and ship code, answer email when it comes in, and treat the project as something we want to be proud of rather than something we're trying to flip. That shape is unusual on the modern web and we think it's part of why the tools feel different to use.

What we believe

  • Tools should work the moment you land. No email gate. No demo request. No "sign up to continue."
  • Your data is yours. Generators are pure JavaScript that runs on your device. Nothing about what you type is recorded or transmitted.
  • Free should mean free. No premium tier, no pro plan, no usage cap. Display ads on the page keep the lights on — never ads inside the tools themselves.
  • Speed is a feature. Every page is statically generated. Every tool runs in sub-millisecond time. The slowest part of using MailHyve is you reading this page.

What we've shipped so far

18 tools, listed below. Each one solves a real, small problem we've hit ourselves at one point or another.

How we choose what to build next

Two filters: is this a problem we've actually hit, and is the existing solution genuinely bad? If the answer to both is yes, the tool gets built. Most ideas fail the second filter — there are plenty of solid free tools out there, and we're not interested in shipping a worse copy of something that already works. The tools that do make the cut tend to share a profile: they solve a narrow, specific task; they run instantly without a server round-trip; and they handle an edge case the existing options miss (Outlook quirks, real-estate license fields, student signature formats, bulk CSV output).

What's next

We're shipping new free tools regularly. On the near roadmap: a deliverability checker, an SPF/DKIM/DMARC inspector, an Outlook email generator, and a bulk-email validator. Subscribe on the homepage if you want a single-line notice when each one goes live. Each will follow the same pattern as the existing tools — free, browser-only, no account, no rate limit.

Get in touch

We read every email. The best ones describe a specific problem you ran into using a tool, or a use case the tool doesn't cover yet. Feature requests that map to a real workflow tend to ship within a few weeks; vague suggestions sit in a backlog. If you found a bug, a one-line description plus what browser you're on is usually enough to reproduce it.
